Geography and Climate
Most first-time visitors come to Turkey expecting to find deserts, palm trees and camel caravans. In fact, the country is geographically diverse, with snow-capped mountains, rolling steppes, broad rivers, coasts and rich agricultural valleys.
Turkey is located between 350 and 420 North latitude and 250 and 440 east longitude. It covers an area of 779.452 square km. and has borders with Bulgaria. Greece, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Georgia and Armenia. Its coastline totals almost 8.400 km; the Aegean coastline alone is 2.800 km long.
As far the mountains the highest is Agri Dagi (Mount Ararat) at 5. 165 meters. Uludag (Mt Olymos) near Bursa is 2.543 meters. Under the empire snow and ice could be taken from Uludag, sailed across the Sea of Marmara and presented to the sultan in Istanbul to cool his drinks.
Turkey has ? population of almost 70.000.000. Though the great majority of its people are Turks. there are ethnical and linguistic groups such as the Laz (? population from the Black S??). Greeks, Armenians, Kurds, Assyrians and Jews.
Turkey is now ? modern secular democratic country with ? predominately Muslim population. It has been ? republic since 1923 after the War of Independence clad ?? Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.

The symbols of Alanya are the famous castle which has over 6.000 meters of wall reaching 250 meters above Alanya, and the Red Tower at the harbour. PAMUKKALE
Welcome to the wonderful white world of the limestone terraces of the natural wonder "Pamukkale". After the pick up from your hotel we'll drive into the direction of Antalya where we'll turn to the marvelous landscapes of the Toros Mountains. We'll pass some beautiful lakes, Anatolian villages and we'll have panoramas over different kinds of landscapes. After lunch-break we'll arrive at Pamukkale and visit the antique city of Hierapolis which was ? medical city thanks to the thermal water of the Pamukkale sources. Here we visit the largest Necropolis of Asia Minor, ? Roman bath house, the Agora and an interesting Roman theater.
After the visit of Hierapolis you'll have ? Walk over ? part of the famous limestone terraces where you have great views over this natural wonder and the Meander valley. We'll board and enjoy the magnificent sights of the Red Tower, the ship wharf and the tremendous castle of Alanya. This is the time for swimming in different caves which are also ideal spots for snorkeling. Make ? 10 meter into the sea after climbing through the Lover's cave.
